Description
AA 6016 is an automotive-grade aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy (0.25–0.6% Mg, 1.0–1.5% Si) with extra silicon to enhance paint-bake hardening response, allowing the alloy to gain strength during automotive painting operations. It offers excellent formability in T4 condition and develops high dent resistance after paint curing. The alloy is predominantly used in automobile outer body panels, including hoods, doors, and fenders where appearance and dent resistance are critical.
