This complex concentrated alloy (CCA) with nominal composition Al1 C0.5 Co1 Cr1 Fe1 Ni1 is a dual FCC/BCC phase alloy system within the multi-principal element alloy research space, incorporating Al, C, Co and 3 additional elements. Key properties include a balance of high strength and moderate ductility with good hardness, reflecting the dual-phase FCC+BCC microstructure; carbon additions form MC-type carbides that strengthen grain boundaries.
