Description
AA 7020 is a medium-to-high-strength weldable aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloy (~4.0–5.0% Zn, 1.0–1.4% Mg) that naturally ages to near-T6 strength after welding, making it popular for European structural and military applications. It provides a good balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability that distinguishes it from copper-containing 7xxx alloys. Applications include military vehicle hulls, sporting equipment, bridge structures, and general structural fabrications.
