Description
AA 4004 is an aluminum-silicon-magnesium brazing alloy (9–10.2% Si, 1.0–2.0% Mg) designed as a filler material for vacuum and controlled-atmosphere brazing of aluminum assemblies. The high silicon content lowers the melting point to form a eutectic that flows into tight joints at brazing temperatures. It is used in the manufacture of automotive heat exchangers, HVAC systems, and aerospace brazed assemblies.
