Description
AA 6181 is a low-copper automotive body sheet alloy derived from 6016, with extra silicon (0.8–1.2% Si) to provide strong natural aging and bake-hardening response while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance without copper's drawbacks. It is formulated for hemming-intensive automotive applications where the sheet must withstand sharp bends without cracking. Applications include automotive door inner and outer panels, hoods, and complex-geometry body components.
