Definition
Ein Umformverfahren, bei dem ein Block unter Druck durch die Öffnung einer Matrize gepresst wird und dabei ein fortlaufendes Erzeugnis mit gleichbleibendem Querschnittsprofil entsteht. Häufig stranggepresst werden Aluminium, Kupfer und Titan.
Detaillierte Erklärung
Beim Vorwärtsstrangpressen wird der Block durch die feststehende Matrize geschoben, beim Rückwärtsstrangpressen bewegt sich die Matrize in den ruhenden Block hinein. Warm stranggepresst werden Aluminiumprofile für Fensterrahmen und Flugzeugstringer, Kupferrohre und Titanstäbe, wobei die bei erhöhter Temperatur verringerte Fließspannung ausgenutzt wird. Das Kaltstrangpressen von Stahl erreicht enge Toleranzen und gute Oberflächen für Fahrzeugbauteile wie Zahnradrohlinge und Verbindungselemente.
