Heat Treatment
Definition
Eine Wärmebehandlung, bei der Stahl über seine obere Umwandlungstemperatur Ac3 erwärmt und anschließend an ruhender Luft abgekühlt wird. Das Ergebnis ist ein feineres und gleichmäßigeres Gefüge als beim vollständigen Glühen.
Detaillierte Erklärung
Angewendet wird das Normalglühen, um grobe Kornstrukturen nach Warmumformung oder Guss zu verfeinern und Seigerungen der Zusammensetzung abzubauen. Da die Abkühlung an Luft rascher verläuft als die Ofenabkühlung beim Glühen, entsteht feinerer Perlit mit etwas höherer Härte und Festigkeit. Als vorbereitende Behandlung geht es häufig der Endbearbeitung oder weiteren Wärmebehandlungen voraus.
