Where to Buy MPEA C0.5 Mo1 Nb1 Re0.5 Ta0.5 W1

Description

This complex concentrated alloy (CCA) with nominal composition C0.5 Mo1 Nb1 Re0.5 Ta0.5 W1 is a predominantly face-centered cubic (FCC) austenitic alloy system within the multi-principal element alloy research space, incorporating C, Mo, Nb and 3 additional elements. Key properties include very high melting point (>1800°C), excellent high-temperature strength retention, and good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures; molybdenum/tungsten additions provide enhanced solid-solution strengthening and creep resistance; carbon additions form MC-type carbides that strengthen grain boundaries; rhenium suppresses diffusivity improving creep resistance. Investigated applications include high-temperature structural applications, advanced gas turbine components, nuclear energy systems, and refractory coating materials.
