Key properties include very high melting point (>1800°C), excellent high-temperature strength retention, and good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures; molybdenum/tungsten additions provide enhanced solid-solution strengthening and creep resistance; titanium additions promote intermetallic precipitation for additional strengthening.
