This medium-entropy alloy (MEA) with nominal composition Mo1 Nb1 Ta1 V1 is a predominantly face-centered cubic (FCC) austenitic alloy system within the multi-principal element alloy research space, incorporating molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, and vanadium. Key properties include very high melting point (>1800°C), excellent high-temperature strength retention, and good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures; molybdenum/tungsten additions provide enhanced solid-solution strengthening and creep resistance.
