Description
AA 6061 is the most versatile and widely used aluminum alloy across all industries, containing magnesium (0.8–1.2%) and silicon (0.4–0.8%) that combine to form Mg₂Si precipitates providing excellent T6 temper strength. It offers a well-balanced combination of strength, corrosion resistance, machinability, weldability, and formability at moderate cost. Common applications span aerospace structures, automotive components, marine hardware, bicycle frames, consumer electronics, and general structural fabrication.
