Description
AA 7034 is an ultra-high-strength aluminum-zinc-magnesium-copper alloy (~8–9% Zn, 2.5% Mg, 2.0% Cu) with zirconium, developed to push the strength limits of aluminum alloys above that achievable with 7075 or 7150. It requires careful aging to T76 or T73 temper to achieve the desired combination of tensile strength exceeding 700 MPa and adequate corrosion resistance. The alloy is used in ultra-high-stress aerospace structural components and advanced aircraft spars.
