This complex concentrated alloy (CCA) with nominal composition Co1 Cr1 Fe1 Mn1 Mo0.087 Ni1 is a predominantly face-centered cubic (FCC) austenitic alloy system within the multi-principal element alloy research space, incorporating Co, Cr, Fe and 3 additional elements. Key properties include good strength-ductility balance, high fracture toughness especially at cryogenic temperatures, and moderate corrosion resistance; molybdenum/tungsten additions provide enhanced solid-solution strengthening and creep resistance. Investigated applications include cryogenic structural components, alloy design research platforms, and high-entropy coating systems.
