Description
AA 2014 is a high-strength aluminum-copper alloy (3.9–5.0% Cu) with additions of silicon, manganese, and magnesium that provide precipitation hardening response in the T6 temper. It offers one of the highest strength levels of any aluminum alloy but has lower corrosion resistance than most other series. Applications include aircraft structural components, forgings, truck frames, and heavy-duty machine parts.
