This medium-entropy alloy (MEA) with nominal composition Nb0.5 Ti0.5 V1 Zr0.5 is a predominantly face-centered cubic (FCC) austenitic alloy system within the multi-principal element alloy research space, incorporating niobium, titanium, vanadium, and zirconium. Key properties include very high melting point (>1800°C), excellent high-temperature strength retention, and good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures; titanium additions promote intermetallic precipitation for additional strengthening.
