Description
AA 2519 is an aluminum-copper-magnesium alloy developed for military armor applications, providing good ballistic resistance combined with weldability not typical of high-strength 2xxx alloys. It contains approximately 5.3–6.4% copper with additions of manganese and zirconium that contribute to high strength and spall resistance. The alloy is used in armored vehicle hulls, combat vehicle panels, and military equipment structures.
