Description
AA 7068 is an ultra-high-strength aluminum alloy achieving some of the highest tensile strengths available in aluminum (~690 MPa ultimate in T6511 temper), containing approximately 7.3–8.3% Zn, 2.0–2.9% Mg, and 1.6–2.4% Cu. Despite its extreme strength, it is formulated to maintain adequate corrosion resistance and moderate fracture toughness. Applications include highly stressed aircraft fittings, ordnance components, and specialized structural parts where minimum weight and maximum strength are paramount.
