Description
AA 7175 is a high-purity variant of 7075 with tighter impurity limits and higher zinc content, specifically designed for aerospace forgings requiring optimized strength, fracture toughness, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking in T736 or T73 temper. The improved microstructural homogeneity from tighter composition control results in superior fatigue resistance compared to standard 7075. Applications include aircraft structural forgings, wing spars, bulkhead frames, and other critical aerospace forged components.
