Description
AA 7010 is a high-strength aerospace aluminum-zinc-magnesium-copper alloy (~6.2% Zn, 2.3% Mg, 1.7% Cu) with zirconium addition to control grain structure, providing excellent combinations of strength, toughness, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking in thick plate. It is formulated specifically for thick structural plate where 7075 would exhibit reduced properties, and is typically used in T7651 or T7351 temper. Primary applications include aircraft upper wing skins, fuselage frames, spars, and heavy structural bulkheads.
