Description
AA 4032 is a high-silicon aluminum alloy (~12.2% Si) with additions of copper, magnesium, and nickel, specifically formulated for forged pistons and engine components operating at elevated temperatures. The silicon content provides excellent wear resistance and reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, critical for maintaining tight piston-cylinder clearances. Primary applications include automotive and aircraft engine pistons, cylinder liners, and thermal management components.
