Overview
Engineered for demanding airframe duty, AA 2060 is an advanced aluminium–copper–lithium alloy (about 3.5–4.5% Cu, 0.6–1.0% Li) that improves on earlier Al–Li grades in damage tolerance and corrosion resistance. It trims density by roughly 4–5% against 2024 while holding or bettering fatigue crack-growth resistance. The alloy is applied to fuselage skin panels, aircraft seat tracks, and airframe structural members where light weight must not compromise durability.

AA 2060 is an advanced aluminum-copper-lithium alloy developed for aerospace applications, offering improved damage tolerance and corrosion resistance compared to earlier Al-Li alloys. It contains approximately 3.5–4.5% copper and 0.6–1.0% lithium, providing a density reduction of about 4–5% over 2024 with maintained or improved fatigue crack growth resistance.
