Description
AA 2124 is a high-purity variant of 2024 with tighter control of iron and silicon impurities, resulting in improved fracture toughness and fatigue performance in thick plate form. The alloy contains 3.8–4.9% copper with magnesium and manganese, and is typically used in the T851 temper. Applications include aircraft bulkheads, fuselage frames, and structural components requiring superior damage tolerance.
