Description
AA 7050 is a high-strength, high-toughness aluminum-zinc-magnesium-copper alloy (~6.2% Zn, 2.3% Mg, 2.0–2.6% Cu) with zirconium, engineered to provide superior combinations of yield strength, fracture toughness, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking in thick sections over 7075. It is available in T7451 and T7452 overaged tempers that maximize SCC resistance without excessive strength sacrifice. Common applications include aircraft upper wing skins, fuselage bulkheads, and thick structural machined components.
