Description
AA 6005 is a medium-strength aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy (~0.6% Mg, 0.6–0.9% Si) that is extrusion-optimized to achieve T5 temper strength through press quenching without separate solution heat treatment. It offers a balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and surface finish quality. Primary applications include architectural extrusions, transportation profiles, ladder rails, and structural components requiring moderate strength with good aesthetics.
