Família: Aluminum Alloy

Magnesium-Silicon Alloy (Al-Mg-Si). AA designation 6016.

Overview

Developed for car bodies, AA 6016 is an aluminium–magnesium–silicon alloy (0.25–0.6% Mg, 1.0–1.5% Si) with extra silicon to strengthen its paint-bake hardening response, so the metal gains strength during the automotive painting cycle. It forms excellently in the T4 condition and develops high dent resistance after paint curing. That behaviour makes it a standard for outer body panels such as hoods, doors, and fenders, where appearance and dent resistance are critical.
