Overview
AA 6082 is a high-strength structural aluminium–magnesium–silicon–manganese alloy (0.6–1.2% Mg, 0.7–1.3% Si, 0.4–1.0% Mn) used widely in Europe, offering higher strength than 6061 in T651 plate. The manganese addition refines the grain structure and improves notch toughness. Its strength and toughness place it in bridges, cranes, offshore platforms, transportation vehicles, and demanding structural extrusions.
