Overview
One of the earliest high-strength aluminium alloys, AA 2017 is a classic aluminium–copper–magnesium composition (3.5–4.5% Cu) belonging to the original 'Duralumin' family. It builds strength by natural ageing to the T4 temper and machines well. These traits kept it in long service for aircraft fuselage skins, screw-machine products, rivets, and structural bolts, roles that value reliable strength together with good workability.
